摘要: The Lagrangian residual circulation has often been introduced as the sum of Eulerian and Stokes' drift. Unfortunately, this definition is conceptually incorrect because both drift are variables. In paper a classification various variables reviewed properly defined. then studied by means two-stage formulation computer model. tidal first computed in conventional way, determined method patterned after markers cells. To demonstrate properties circulation, application approach South San Francisco Bay, California, considered. With aid model results, examined. It can be concluded that estimation from data may lead to unacceptable error, particularly estuary where excursion same order magnitude length scale basin. A direction calculation must made shown feasible.
