摘要: Background Acute pancreatitis (AP) and metabolic syndrome (MetS) are common clinical problems with serious complications high cost of treatment. The relationship between MetS severity AP is unknown, because there very few published articles, further studies had been recommended. Therefore, we designed this study to estimate the association its components severity. Patients and Methods In prospective analytical cross-sectional study, all patients who referred two referral hospitals affiliated Shiraz University Medical Sciences 2016 2019 were evaluated. diagnosis as well follow-up for evaluation outcome was performed in enrolled patients. National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel III (NCEP/ATP-III) used MetS. Bedside Index Severity Pancreatitis (BISAP) revised Atlanta classification (RAC) AP. Finally, at different severities compared. Results Of 214 our center, a total 76 included study. patients, 40 (52.6%) male 36 (47.4%) female. Frequency Mets non-MetS groups 34 (44.74%) 42 (55.26%), respectively. gender mean age difference not statistically significant. According groups, 25 (73.5%) 9 (26.5%) BISAP score 0-2 3-5, group significantly higher than (P = 0.022). Overall, 20 (58.8%), 11 (32.4%), 3 (8.8%) mild, moderately severe, severe based on RAC, Severe RAC 0.029). frequency (P= 0.008). length hospital stay also 0.001). Overall, three died, whom 3-5. Waist circumference, fasting blood sugar, triglyceride types mild group, according RAC. Although, except HDL-cholesterol 3-5 only significant waist circumference. Conclusion present showed that rate including hyperglycemia hypertriglyceridemia increasing This incidence more much without We recommend new larger sample sizes conducted careful consideration confounding factors investigate effect treatment nature
