摘要: Moving in a group while avoiding collisions with members causes internal dynamics the group. Although these have recently been measured quantitatively starling flocks (Sturnus vulgaris), it is unknown what them. Computational models shown that collective motion groups likely due to attraction, avoidance and, possibly, alignment among members. Empirical studies show starlings adjust their movement fixed number of closest neighbours or topological range, namely 6 7 and assume each three activities done same (topological range). Here, we start from hypothesis escape behavior more effective at preventing flock when single neighbor than compromising by For keep empirical range. We investigate how one several affects our computational model StarDisplay. By comparing data, confirm resemble data closely if avoid merely single, neighbor. Our shows considering different interaction partners per activity represents useful perspective changing parameter, are avoided, has effects through selforganisation.
