摘要: Methyl chloride, CH{sub 3}Cl, and methyl bromide, 3}Br, are particularly important in the global atmosphere as major natural sources of chlorine bromine to stratosphere. The production these gases is dominated by sources, but smaller, anthropogenic such agricultural fumigation and/or biomass burning, also exist. As absorbers infrared radiation interest for their potential effect on tropospheric energy balance well chemical interactions. In this study we estimate radiative forcing Global Warming Potentials (GWPs) 3}Cl 3}Br. Our calculations use an transfer model based correlated k-distribution algorithm band absorption. Radiative values 0.0047W/m{sup 2} per part billion volume (ppbv) troposphere 0.0049W/m{sup ppbv 3}Br were obtained. On a molecule basis about 2{percent} CFC-11 270 times CO{sub 2}. GWPs 8 4 (100 year time integration, 2}=1). These results indicate that while andmore » have direct similar 4}, current emission rates too low contribute meaningfully atmospheric greenhouse heating effects.{copyright} 1997 American Geophysical Union« less
