摘要: Background It is important to develop an understanding of what the public knows about skin cancer and sun safety precautions they are taking. Research on evaluation education targeting adults minimal. Aim To assess knowledge behavior related exposure, determine if informal interaction between dermatologists could promote awareness precautions. Methods In May 2000, a dermatologist-staffed educational booth was set up at Indianapolis Indians baseball game. Attendees were educated through discussions handouts. completed self-administered questionnaire prior this mailed follow-up in August 2000. Results One hundred thirty-six attendees participated May, 60 second August. The results revealed that 92% believed exposure caused cancer; 37% used sunscreens “sometimes” 29%“never.” There significant decrease number hours spent outdoors per week during summer 2000 compared 1999.
