摘要: We present the results of an experiment aimed at comparing effects different background radiation environments on metabolism and responses to γ-rays cycloheximide cultured mammalian cells. Chinese hamster V79 cells were maintained in exponential growth parallel for up 9 months Istituto Superiore di Sanita (ISS) INFN-Gran Sasso underground Laboratory (LNGS) where exposure due radon was reduced by factors about 70 25, respectively. After grown LNGS (cumulative γ dose 30 µGy, average concentration around 5 Bq/m3), compared ISS γ-ray 2 mGy, 120 exhibited i) a significant increase cell density confluence, ii) significantly higher capacity scavenge organic inorganic hydroperoxides but scavenging towards superoxide anions iii) both basal hprt mutation frequency sensitivity mutagenic effect γ-rays. The also showed greater apoptotic starting third month culture, that no longer detected after months. Overall, these data suggest role ionizing determining adaptive response, although they cannot be considered conclusive.
