摘要: Background Tobacco smoking can have negative health outcomes on recovery from surgery. Although it is recommended best practice to provide patients with advice quit and follow-up support, provision of post-discharge support rare. Developing an online cessation program may help address this gap. Objectives This paper describes the development pretesting (smoke-free recovery, SFR) tailored orthopaedic trauma population for use while in hospital post-discharge. Methods Drawing DoTTI framework developing program, following steps were followed development: (1) design development; (2) testing early iteration; (3) effectiveness (4) integration implementation. article first two stages SFR development. Results a 10-module trauma. Of participants who completed iterations, none reported any difficulties orientating themselves or understanding content. The main themes that was ‘helpful’, ‘help quit’ low increased thoughts ‘staying post-discharge’. Conclusions study found theory evidence-based approach as basis acceptable users. A randomised controlled trial will be conducted examine whether effective increasing how integrated implemented into (stages three four framework).
