摘要: The present study addressed the filling sensitivity and power output of TOYOBO VAD (TVAD) Utah soft artificial ventricle (USAV) to evaluate these pumps as a muscle powered cardiac assist device (MCAD). Two were assembled with three different types driving chambers placed underneath latissimus dorsi (LD) muscle: spindle (SS) type, elastic (ES) type bellows (B) type. USAV required time greater than 1000 msec at any preload chamber, although TVAD allowed this only ES-type chamber assembly. In an ex vivo mock study, ES- SS-type assembly demonstrated maximum stroke volume (SV) 7.7 mL (39% stroke) by 12 (17% afterload below 20 mmHg. On other hand, B-type increased SV according in both pumps, resulting 25 (36% 7.6 (38% 30 mmHg afterload. work (SW) achieved was 1.3 x 10(6) erg 0.5 USAV, which exceeds that canine right ventricle. conclusion, provided best pump ejection, but back pressure diaphragm determined performance efficiency. An active mechanism for will be necessary offset low requirements VAD, provide ventricular support.
