摘要: Nanoparticles (NPs) interact with living organisms through different pathways. These interactions depend on chemical nature of NPs, capping, and size, among others. In the last years, use NPs for agricultural purposes has increased. Their applications mainly involve dosing though soil or foliar spraying. Different studies have indicated that can be absorbed by plant roots exposure, may reach all organs including fruits, affecting their quality. addition, they provide a route exposure humans animals. Due to physicochemical properties high reactivity, influence basic cellular processes such as proliferation, metabolism, death. recent several evaluated effects applications, highlighting capability induce oxidative stress, interrupt transport activity cell membrane electrons/ions, cause damage, modulating gene regulation. Given risk assessment conventional materials not applicable nanomaterials (NMs), it is great practical scientific importance study safety NMs sustainable food production consumer health protection. The present review intends consolidate current knowledge related plants. With this information we propose what consider are relevant gaps filled in order more systemic picture above-mentioned interactions.
