摘要: Surface terrain information is required to economically site new or relocate existing infrastructure facilities and make final design plans. Currently, ground surveying photogrammetric mapping are the methods used by departments of transportation acquire this data. Both time resource intensive since they require significant data collection reduction provide level detail necessary for facility location. Additionally conventional entails entirely in field may that personnel locate on near heavily traveled roadways. Light Detection Ranging (LIDAR) an alternative technology obtain a more expedient manner. Data can be collected under variety environmental conditions including low sun angle, cloudy conditions, even darkness, resulting expanded windows collection. The research presented examines elevation accuracy LIDAR as it compares set global positioning system control points varying surfaces. This allowed determination which surfaces performed well on, did not.
