摘要: A study of the transverse normal strain effect on static thermoelastic response homogeneous and multilayered plates is presented. Numerical evaluations have been given for classical, refined, advanced zig-zag plate theories. Constant, linear, higher-order forms temperature profile in thickness direction accounted for. Basic assumptions considered theories are quoted. The related governing equations not because these were derived from a unified formulation that was described elsewhere. Closed-form solutions discussed by addressing three problems: made an isotropic layer; two-layered consisting two layers different materials; composite cross-ply layers. It has confirmed any refinements classical models generally meaningless, unless effects shear strains both taken into account theory. Furthermore, it found cannot be discarded even though thin accurate description could result to account, vice versa.
