摘要: A mechanism involving free radicals is proposed for the oxidation of methane by Methylococcus capsulatus. Removal a hydrogen atom from can be effected oxygen in form hydroperoxide-iron complex. Subsequent steps methyl radical so formed to formaldehyde accounted known reactions. The substrates other than (e.g. dimethyl ether, carbon monoxide or ammonia) accommodated variations initial mechanism.
