摘要: Abstract To analyze the steps leading to exact solutions of Schrodinger equation, we proceed as if were do shell-model calculations in valence spaces defined by carefully specified doubly-magic cores. First sketch coupled-cluster formalism a general framework. Then separate hamiltonian H = Hm + HM (m monopole, M multipole or residual) constructing explicitly Hm, entirely responsible for self-consistency aspects. Next construct renormalized hamiltonians describes core and single-particle energies. It also contains quadratic effects. The energies are incorporated smooth function E(SLD)of liquid-drop (LD) form. Shell effects emerge residual part plus contributions due configuration mixing through HM. Deformed nuclei treated phenomenologically, invoking extraordinary simplicity their energy patterns, elementary arguments about structure. A mass formula is presented. shown that minimal version its bring down r.m.s. deviation (in fit N, Z > 20 nuclei) from 2.5–3 MeV an LD form 900 keV (800 keV) adjunction only two (three) parameters. work Duflo (preceding paper) examined large extent vindicated. Study data provides firm evidence full specification clue further progress.
