摘要: Beehive fences are an effective solution to resolve conflicts between humans and crop-raiding elephants in Kenya. They produce win-win scenarios; protected from aggression as they deterred crop raiding, while farmers benefit protection, pollination, valuable products maintaining honeybee hives. However, artificially increasing the density of these super-generalist pollinators landscape may impact wild bee species honeybees out-compete them for floral resources. We studied communities Sagalla, Kenya, where beehive have been implemented protection many years. Despite long-term presence fences, densities were low when study was conducted because a severe drought did not differ control our collections. When we compared farms with without found little difference abundance, richness, community composition resident communities. This suggests either (a) permanent on communities, or (b) recover quickly low.
