摘要: More than 500,000 hectares of land is planted to potato crop each year in the United States. Intensive nutrient-management practices for cultivation have led increased concerns about nitrate leaching these soils. Studies on nitrogen (N) uptake characteristics roots shown that N fertilizers are applied excess optimal rate maximum yield. This paper discusses all current and relevant research nutrient water management issues lead improved use efficiency successful production minimized groundwater impacts. Specific topics within section include mineral fertilizers, nutritional requirements, root system, slow controlled-release organic sources nutrients, nitrification inhibitors. Research alternate methods irrigation currently available discussed. Application prediction models optimize components sustaining both economical environmental goals also discussed, with an emphasis immediate need linking traditionally aimed at yields preservation quality future programs.
