摘要: Abstract New stable carbon and oxygen isotope data from an Upper Cretaceous section in Tibet are presented, compared to records England, Italy, Germany. Together with a stratigraphic re-interpretation of published nearby Tibet, our can surprisingly well be correlated the European sections. This indicates that, similar distinct positive excursion at Cenomanian-Turonian boundary, also broad shift middle-late Coniacian early Santonian reflects major perturbation cycle on global scale, even though organic-rich sediments related OAE3 appear mainly restricted Atlantic Ocean adjacent basins. The further show apart Coniacian-Santonian excursion, isotopic shifts smaller scale Turonian Coniacian, such as Round Down, Pewsey, Hitchwood Events, over both hemispheres. demonstrates that development oceanic anoxic conditions associated burial large amounts organic do not constitute prerequisite for globally reflected shifts. support concept relation between main excursions sea-level variations. Cyclic fluctuations geochemical lithological parameters likely orbitally driven. These cycles preferably during periods lower or variable sea-level, whereas ocean-atmosphere system seems have operated different mode long phases high, OAE3.
