摘要: The aim of the present study was to evaluate pulmonary sequelae and diaphragmatic motility in infant, adolescent adult patients (pts) who had undergone repair a congenital hernia. Thirty-one (81.5%) out 38 survivors after left side CDH repair, without using patch, were followed-up. They subdivided two groups. Group A (mid-term follow-up): 12 pts (39%) (5 males, 7 females) with mean age 4.5 years; B (long-term 19 (61%) (9 10 21.0 years. All underwent physical examination, chest X-ray, ultrasonographic (US) perfusion scintigraphy. Patients group also submitted spirometry. normal life-style no one complained respiratory symptoms. X-ray revealed pathologic findings (39%). 8 (26%) showed wall alterations. profile dome appeared irregular 9 (29%). In all M-mode sonography disclosed reduced on treated side. scintigraphy value affected 39.2±0.7%. spirometric values. We noted that lung significantly rapidly improved even apparently hypoplastic small lungs, diaphragm maintained good contractility during forced respiration.
