摘要: The last few decades have seen increased theoretical and empirical interest in multidimensional measures of welfare. This paper develops a two-parameter class welfare indices that is sensitive to two distinct forms inter-personal inequality the framework. first form pertains spread each dimensional achievement across population, as would be reflected version usual Lorenz criterion. second one regards association or correlation dimensions, reflecting key observation inter-dimensional may alter evaluation individual well overall inequality. Most existing multi-dimensional are, however, either completely insensitive are only first. developed this both An axiomatic characterization provided, it shown other indices, such ones by Bourguignon (1999) Foster, Lopez-Calva, Szekely (2005), sub-classes new broader class. Finally, essential statistical tests constructed verify reliability evaluations generated indices.
