摘要: AbstractThis review surveys rapid solidification (RS) processing of titanium alloys. The attributes and requirements for RS are discussed along with techniques including powder, flake, fibre, wire production. Compaction presented followed by a description the metastable constitutional effects which can result from – solid solubility extension formation crystalline, quasicrystalline, amorphous phases. microstructures that develop through RS, their potential subsequent decomposition, discussed. Effects additions dispersoid forming elements, metalloids, eutectoid formers to enhance mechanical property behaviour described. final section deals impact on base intermetallics. Throughout review, emphasis is correlation properties it shown where advantages be gained approach compared conventional ingot metallurgy techn...
