A block-based gradient descent search algorithm for block motion estimation in video coding

摘要: A block-based gradient descent search (BBGDS) algorithm is proposed in this paper to perform block motion estimation video coding. The BBGDS evaluates the values of a given objective function starting from small centralized checking block. minimum within found, and direction where expected lie used determine position new compared with full (FS), three-step (TSS), one-at-a-time (OTS), (NTSS). Experimental results show that technique provides competitive performance reduced computational complexity.
