摘要: In many studies, fluctuating asymmetry (FA) has been used as a measure of individual differences in developmental imprecision. A model how variation imprecision is associated with described and applied to important issues about FA. If exist, due error should be leptokurtically distributed. Moreover, the greater magnitude differences, leptokurtosis. Asymmetry purportedly variety species indeed The level leptokurtosis suggests that CV underlying generally 20–25, consistent it being fitness trait. addition, data suggest that: (1) underlie different traits are largely shared across not trait-specific; (2) heritability these may average between 35 55%, despite small heritabilities trait FAs; (3) correlations FA or components high precision species. Theoretical implications discussed.
