摘要: Forests play an important role in the global carbon balance because they offset a large portion of dioxide emitted through human activities. Accurate estimates are necessary for national reporting greenhouse gas inventories, credit trading and forest management but Portugal reliable accessible measurement methodologies still lacking some species. The objective this study was to provide managers with comprehensive database factors equations that allows estimating stand-level stocks Pinus pinea L. (P. pinea), regardless tree inventory information available. We produced aboveground biomass stem volume equations, expansion (BEF) by component as well wood basic density (WBD) fraction biomass. A root-to-shoot ratio is also presented using data from trees which root system completely excavated. harvested 53 centre south covering different sizes (6.5 56.3 cm), ages (10 45 years) stand densities (20 580 ha-1). results indicate allometry P. not comparable other pines varies considerably characteristics, highlighting need develop stand-dependent local or regional calculations. BEFaboveground decreases open (1.33±0.03 Mg m-3) closed stands (1.07±0.01 due change allocation pattern branches. Average WBD 0.50±0.01 m-3 dimensions found 0.30±0.03. statistically commonly used 0.5 factor components. allow evaluating Portugal, contributing more accurate estimation sequestered type.
