摘要: Abstract Circular dichroism (c.d.) and turbidity measurements have been performed to study the structural behaviour of marine invertebrate sperm-specific histones H1, H2B mollusc protein S2 their dependence on ionic strength as well formation complexes these proteins with DNA. Sea urchin sperm H1 from Strongylocentrotus intermedius or droebachiensis attain, at 2 m NaCl, a higher helicity than bivalve Chlamis islandicus calf thymus. This extra helical part sea is rapidly digested by trypsin. The DNA are characterized c.d. spectra strong negative ellipticities corresponding (-PSI)-type thymus H1-DNA complexes. arginine content correlates which protein—DNA begins. complex sets in once reduced. results investigations H2B-DNA point possible involvement condensation chromatin.
