Adrenal myelolipoma: rationale for nonoperative management.

摘要: With increasing use of computerized tomography and ultrasonography, asymptomatic lesions the adrenal gland are frequently detected. One such tumor is myelolipoma, composed adipose hemic elements histologically resembling bone marrow. This can be diagnosed by its characteristic appearance on CT scan, fine-needle biopsy guided used to obtain a tissue diagnosis. Because patients with myelolipoma typically have recurrence symptoms after resection, surgical intervention not indicated unless an enlarging impinges surrounding structures.
