Excited-state absorption in excimer-pumped CaWO4 crystals

摘要: Abstract We report excited state absorption (ESA) in a CaWO 4 under excimer laser excitation (308 nm). The ESA spectrum proves to be very broad and intense. calculate the stimulated emission cross-section show that it is at least one order of magnitude smaller than broad-band cross-section. This precludes action an undoped crystal. spectra can assigned transitions between terms (t 5 1 , 2e) 4t 2 ) configurations WO 2- complex. Using experimental parameters deduced from spectra, we construct configuration coordinate diagram including higher state. predicts initial terminal states transition are characterized by different equilibrium positions and, consequently, charge distribution. It suggested this effect explained contribution p orbitals ligand ions overall complex nature, being combination conventional ESA, decaying like luminescence another, long lasting component possibly connected with phosphorescent traps. behavior reproduced simple kinetic model.
