摘要: Abstract The firing patterns of single afferent fibers from the carotid body chemoreceptors exhibit an apparently random behavior in that inter-spike interval histogram has exponential form and a plot standard deviation versus mean results identity relationship over much physiological range. When only these fundamental tests are applied, there large number models which can account for this kind activity. There six such being investigated our laboratory. Among assume involvement transmitter substance those provide local potential fluctuations resulting opening closing ionic channels. Also included utilize either notion reservoir or concept several regularly collateral receptor axons summing centrally to produce pattern. Each data similar been experimentally developed when interspike histograms, means deviations used. However, they distinguishable more sophisticated measures as higher moments, autocorrelation functions, serial correlation applied.
