The S-R issue: Its status in behavior analysis and in Donahoe and Palmer's Learning and Complex Behavior.

摘要: The central focus of this essay is whether the effect reinforcement best viewed as strengthenng responding or strengthening environmental control responding. We make argument that adherence to Skinner's goal achieving a moment-to-moment analysis behavior compels acceptance latter view. Moreover, thoroughgoing commitment undermines fundamental distinction between conditioning process instantiated by operant and respondent contingencies while buttressing crucially important differences in their cumulative outcomes. Computer simulations informed experimental analyses neuroscience are used illustrate these points.
