摘要: The age-related deterioration of the function immune cells, or immunosenescence, is based on oxidative stress (an imbalance between levels oxidants and antioxidant defences with an increase former). Accordingly, ingestion a diet supplemented thiolic antioxidants such as N-acetylcysteine (NAC), glutathione precursor, by aged subjects improved their leucocyte functions. aim present study was to show if NAC improves in vitro several functions leucocytes from chronologically old mice this able bring values these those adult animals. Six concentrations (in range 0.001 mM 2.5 mM) were investigated peritoneal (78±2 weeks age) BALB/c mice. These phagocytic process macrophages, namely: adherence substrate, directed migration chemotaxis, phagocytosis inert particles superoxide anion measure digestion capacity, well chemotaxis lymphocytes. also studied (18±2 results showed that all studied, especially at highest concentrations, which had shown impaired mice, approaching Since are markers health predictors longevity, administration NAC, shows direct action leucocytes, seems be good strategy improve system and, therefore, reach healthy longevity.
