摘要: Abstract The Three Gorges Project in China has brought significant changes to the region's riparian environment, posing serious challenges biodiversity conservation. Salix variegata is a native shrub distributed on riverbanks reservoir region, and important ecological function community. In this study, we studied ecology of seed germination S. as efforts understand its spatial distribution develop conservation strategies. We found that soil type, moisture content temperature all had effects . Germination rate increased with increasing moisture, while decreased over-saturated soil. riverbank sand was higher than sandy clay loam. optimal for 24 °C, under which 100% reached 7 days. Seed viability declined significantly time after being released from fruits. results suggest determining factor germination, influenced tributary above 175 m region can be used species, their fluvial patterns should have not been disturbed by hydropower project.
