摘要: Glass samples of composition xCeO2–(35–x) Bi2O3–20BaO–45B2O3 (x = 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1 and 2 mol%) have been prepared. The studied glasses were named as G0–G5 according to the values CeO2, respectively. Many properties proposed determined. Both FTIR UV–Visible are measured in range 400–4000 cm−1 200–1100 nm, ability prepared glass attenuate gamma-ray was investigated utilizing newly Phy-X/PSD software. Density has minor increase while molar volume decreased from 38.0625 35.3803 (cm3/mol). absorption edge UV is shifted towards longer wavelength with increasing concentration CeO2 whereas a remarkable decrease bandgap (2.45–2.02 eV) observed. In addition, refractive index increased 2.56 2.73 glasses. There change structure by addition Ce ions such BO3 BO4 groups formation BiO6 groups. MAC arranged order that (G0)MAC > (G1)MAC > (G2)MAC > (G3)MAC > (G4)MAC > (G5)MAC. G0 sample highest HVL among all It found Zeff maximum value at 0.02 meV equal 78.6436, 78.59407, 78.54402, 78.49343, 78.4423, 78.23216 for G0–G5, Therefore, G5 showed best shielding capacity several commercial materials. Thus, introduced themselves superior candidates against gamma photons.
