First Report of Calonectria ilicicola Causing a New Disease on Laurus (Laurus nobilis) in Europe

摘要: Crown and root rot has been detected on potted Laurus nobilis plants in a nursery located the Catania province (Italy). Perithecia referable to Calonectria species were consistently crowns stems of symptomatic plants. Based morphology, cultural features molecular analysis, was identified as ilicicola. Koch’s postulates fulfilled by pathogenicity tests carried out seedlings. To our knowledge, this is first report occurrence disease caused Ca. ilicicola nobilis.
