摘要: The possibility of utilising a performance-based targeted selective treatment (TST) anthelmintic regime in grazing dairy calves to reduce use while maintaining productivity was investigated on two commercial farms Canterbury, New Zealand. For five months, 107 14-week-old Farm A and 100 10-week-old B were either treated with at monthly intervals or TST based their ability meet target growth rates. animals, individual mean liveweight gains calculated for each month animals that failed reach live weight anthelmintic. Compared counterparts, the number treatments administered reduced by 84% 65% B, respectively. Although there no difference between groups calf (P >0.05), cumulative gain 6% 0.05) compared counterparts Overall, usage small compromise growth. It is anticipated such regimes can provide an ethical sustainable method parasite control calves.
