摘要: The growth of Pseudomonas oleovorans on n-octane was characterized by the formation intracellular structures. These inclusions were isolated and characterized. Morphologically, they resembled poly-beta-hydroxybutyrate granules found in Bacillus cereus, as shown freeze-fracture electron microscopy. elemental analysis showed, however, that do not contain poly-beta-hydroxybutyric acid. Instead, consistent with a C8 polyester, which interpretation supported fatty acid hydrolyzed granules. From evidence presented here, we conclude P. forms poly-beta-hydroxyoctanoate when grown n-octane.
