摘要: BACKGROUND: Postoperative sore throat (POST) is a common complication after endotracheal intubation. We compared the effectiveness on POST of spraying tube (ETT) cuff with benzydamine hydrochloride, 10% lidocaine, and 2% lidocaine. METHODS: Three hundred seventy-two patients were randomly allocated into 4 groups. The ETT cuffs in each group sprayed lidocaine or normal saline before After insertion, inflated to an airway leak pressure 20 cm H 2 0. Anesthesia was maintained propofol. examined for (none, mild, moderate, severe) at 1, 6, 12, 24 hours extubation. RESULTS: highest incidence occurred 6 extubation all There significantly lower than groups (P < 0.05) observation time point. At extubation, (17.0%) (53.7%), (37.0%), (40.8%) 0.05). had decreased severity Compared groups, increased 12 no significant differences among local systemic side effects. CONCLUSIONS: Spraying hydrochloride simple effective method reduce POST.
