摘要: FIRST (Fibered Imager foR a Single Telescope instrument) is post-AO instrument that enables high contrast imaging and spectroscopy at spatial scales below the diffraction limit. achieves sensitivity accuracy by unique combination of sparse aperture masking, filtering single-mode fibers cross-dispersion in visible. The telescope pupil divided into sub-pupils an array microlenses, coupling light fibers. output are rearranged non redundant configuration, allowing measurement complex visibility for every baseline over 600-900 nm spectral range. A first version this currently integrated to Subaru Extreme AO bench (SCExAO). This paper focuses on on-going upgrades testings, which aim increasing instrument’s stability sensitivity, thus improving dynamic FIRSTv2’s interferometric scheme based photonic chip beam combiner. We report laboratory characterization two different types 5-input combiner with enhanced throughput. recombination each pair encoded single output. Thus, sample fringes we implemented temporal phase modulation pistoning segmented mirrors Micro-ElectroMechanical System (MEMS). By angular resolution visible, offers capabilities context detection close companions, especially 30m-class telescopes.
