摘要: A disk-shaped compact tension (DC(T)) test has been developed as a practical method for obtaining the fracture energy of asphalt concrete. The main purpose development this specimen geometry is ability to cylindrical cores obtained from in-place concrete pavements or gyratory-compacted specimens fabricated during mixture design process. suitable was using ASTM E399 standard testing metals starting point. After finalizing geometry, typical surface tested at various temperatures and loading rates evaluate proposed DC(T) configuration. variability found be comparable with associated other tests detect changes in conditions (temperature rate) benchmark determining potential geometry. capability capture transition brittle material low more ductile higher temperatures. Because conducted on ungrooved specimens, special care taken quantify deviations crack path pure mode I path. An analysis variance data revealed that prototype can statistical differences resulting across useful range rates. This specific also indicated not correlated deviation angle. paper provides an overview ongoing work integrating experimental results observations numerical by means cohesive zone model tailored behavior.
