摘要: Abstract South African human geographers have been largely silent in debates about Anglo-American disciplinary hegemony, hierarchies of knowledge, ir/relevance and myriad other the academy geographical knowledge. This paper offers a critical reflection on current tendencies within geography towards parochialism, empiricism disconnection from international academy. Pointing to these developments as being rooted local tradition, call is made for greater self-reflection order re-engage advance transformation. The tendency bemoan dominance journals academics, well contextual systematic constraints, noted established scholars gently chastised failing move beyond complaints measures that offer way forward debates.
