摘要: Cheap and clean energy demand is continuously increasing due to economic growth industrialization. The sectors of several countries still employ fossil fuels for power production there a concern associated emissions greenhouse gases (GHG). On the other hand, environmental regulations are becoming more stringent, resultant need be mitigated. Therefore, optimal policies considering resources environmentally friendly pathways electricity generation essential. objective this paper develop comprehensive model optimize sector. For purpose, multi-period mixed integer programming (MPMIP) was developed in General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS) minimize cost reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Various CO2 mitigation strategies such as fuel balancing capture sequestration (CCS) were employed. tested on case study from Pakistan period 13 years 2018 2030. All types plants considered that available installed Moreover, capacity expansion also where needed. Fuel found most suitable promising option up 40% can achieved by year 2030 starting 4% all scenarios without increase (COE). higher than realized but number new proposed much beyond target, which resulted increased COE. Implementation reduced considerably with an COE 15%.
