摘要: There is a long lasting debate on the effects of domestic cattle grazing natural ecosystems worldwide. Cattle are generally assumed to have negative forest conservation; however, several studies also report positive and neutral effects. We aimed investigate available evidence for positive, woody southern South America. conducted peer-review literature search using ISI Web Knowledge Scopus databases identify dealing with impacts nature conservation. compiled database 211 cases from 126 original publications. A reduced number (Patagonian forest, Chaco Monte) concentrated ~ 85% reported study cases. The hierarchical cluster analysis group based effects, ecological variables that (~ 66% cases) were mostly informed vegetation mainly occur in Patagonian Chaco; (~ 16%) Monte (no particular variable associated), while (~ 18%) fauna-related Uruguayan savanna. Our suggests by America forests not homogeneous depend ecosystem considered as well attribute measured. Different found can be partially explained differences history different productivity. It vital improve our understanding cattle–forest interactions guide synergies between sustainable management
