摘要: microRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of endogenous 22-25nt single-stranded RNA molecules that regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally. They highly conserved among species with distinct temporal and spatial patterns expression, each them potentially interacting hundreds messenger RNAs. Since miRNAs, like transcription factors (TFs), trans-acting interact cis-regulatory elements, they generate complex combinatorial code. Moreover, as TFs genes containing binding sites for have high probability being targeted by the basic interplay miRNA/TF renders miRNAs key components regulatory networks.
