摘要: This chapter discusses the current state of knowledge biodegradation synthetic chelating agents nitrilotriacetate (NTA) and EDTA. The understanding requires a mechanistic coupled geochemistry microbiology, including way chelated metal influences biodegradation, in metal-chelate complex can exchange with other metals, adsorption agent by whole cells, cellular transport into cell, its enzymatic and, finally, genetics biodegradation. identity metal-NTA present solution after desorption, that is, "desorbed complex," is important for predicting NTA when sorbents are present. variation cells was proposed to be influenced lability or frequency making breaking metal-carboxyl oxygen metal-nitrogen bonds complex. specificity monooxygenase indicated an intact necessary did not influence enzyme. Future areas research on biochemistry include purification IDA dehydrogenase cloning, sequencing, characterization corresponding gene(s).
