摘要: BACKGROUND There is an increase in the attention to factors influencing quality of life cancer patients. The aim present study was evaluate temperament and character traits related health-related (HRQoL) patients with cancer. METHODS Two hundred three inpatients from Italian oncology departments filled Temperament Character Inventory (TCI-140) based on Cloninger's personality model, SF-36 questionnaire assessing HRQoL, Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HADS). Eighty percent were undergoing chemotherapy. RESULTS Lower levels harm avoidance higher self-directedness significantly correlated a better HRQoL. Regression analysis controlling for psychopathology (anxiety depression symptoms) showed that influence seemed add little psychopathology. CONCLUSIONS demonstrates existence some relations between HRQoL assessed using TCI-140 questionnaire. However, among psychological factors, seems retain more
