摘要: The dynamics of opinions are seldom investigated in detail public opinion research because the difficulty capturing long-term changes with classical empirical methods. Agent-based modeling (ABM) promises a solution for combining (structural) theories and temporally explicit models while also considering social interaction. In this paper we operationalize formalize theoretical assumptions judgment theory concerning changes. Moreover, to link ABM real case, on contested infrastructure deep geological repositories Switzerland longitudinal online questionnaire. questionnaire results serve as initialization data model. simulation show agents’ disaggregated way reveal their heterogeneous development over time. implications successful cycle comprising theorizing, modeling, acquisition discussed.
