摘要: This paper examines the ongoing significance of locative media and mobile-generated geocoded data, including their increasing integration into core functionalities business objectives large social search services. In this article, I take a ‘communicative ecologies’ approach to explore how location-based services function as dynamic system, with fluid shifting structure or set relations. The evolution mobile networking recommendation service Foursquare provides striking example such system. first half paper, company’s still-evolving model, intricate corporate relationships other key search, recommendation, firms. second half, trace engagement is also at play in end uses location applications.
