摘要: This paper introduces a framework for screening cargo containers nuclear material at security stations throughout the United States using knapsack problem, reliability, and Bayesian probability models. The approach investigates how to define system alarm given set of devices, hence, designs analyzes next-generation architectures. Containers that yield undergo secondary screening, where more effective intrusive devices are used further examine radiological material. It is assumed there budget performing on alarm. explores relationships tradeoffs between prescreening, costs, efficacy radiation detectors. key contribution this analysis it provides risk-based determining limited resources. suggests highly accurate prescreening most important factor particularly when tests dependent, moderately may not be an improvement over treating all same.
