摘要: Experiments initiated by W.C. Young and collaborators in the early 1930s (reviewed 1961, 1969) have dominated work on control of feminine mating behavior ovarian hormones. The conceptual developments this group still guide research field as well related fields, e.g., hormonal body weight regulation (Wade 1976). In initial attempts to identify endocrine factors controlling induction sexual receptivity guinea pig, it was found that growth Graafian follicle accelerated hours preceding onset (Myers et al. 1936). Knowing exogenous administration luteinizing hormone (LH) induces rapid preovulatory (Foster Hisaw 1935), Dempsey (1936) LH cyclic pigs induced if given at a stage estrous cycle when ovaries contained ripe follicles; but not or ovariectomized animals pretreated with estrogen. It shown acted well-developed follicles, stimulating production factor which turn behavior. follicular identified progesterone. Thus, display during pig were be estrogen progesterone, progesterone background priming, i.e., after period conditioning.
