Study of SOL/divertor plasmas in JFT-2M

摘要: Experimental efforts on JFT-2M have been devoted to understanding the scrape-off-layer (SOL)/divertor plasmas and investigating power particle control by boundary plasma modification. Starting in 1985, an open divertor configuration was adopted for first decade of experiments. The characteristics SOL/ such as in/out asymmetry plasmas, heat diffusivities, SOL current during edge-localized-mode event were identified. flux successfully handled active methods local pumping, ergodization, biasing, electron cyclotron wave edge heating, fueling optimization. In 1995, improve capability divertor, modified a closed configuration, which demonstrated baffling effects with its narrower throat. A dense cold state (n div e =4 ×10 19 m -3 T = 4 eV), compatible improved confinement modes (e.g., H-mode), realized strong gas puffing configuration. Edge fluctuations related H-mode physics identified electrostatic probe magnetic measurements. These are reviewed this paper.
