摘要: When people frequently alternate between simple cognitive tasks, performance on stimuli which are assigned the same response in both tasks is typically faster and more accurate than require different responses for thus indicating stimulus processing according to stimulus–response (S–R) rules of currently irrelevant task. It under debate whether such congruency effects mediated by activation an abstract representation task working memory or “direct” associations specific responses. We contrasted these views manipulating concurrent load (Experiment 1) frequency S–R 2). While between-task were not affected amount load, they much stronger that processed context a competitor These findings consistent with idea large portion stems from direct do support sole mediation task-set memory.
