摘要: A novel mutant microorganism Streptococcus zooepidemicus HA-116 ATCC 39920. The produces large amounts of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid. invention provides a method obtaining such microorganisms. also concerns sodium hyaluronate which comprises growing with vigorous agitation the genus under appropriate conditions in suitable nutrient medium containing sugar component as carbon source. is present substantially constant concentration between 0.2 and 10 grams per liter. has pH about 6.0 7.5 includes magnesium ion above 0.05 excreted into by organism purified using methods involving precipation, redissolving reprecipating hyaluronate. Composition are characterized an absence pyrogenicity skin irritation obtained.
