摘要: Abstract Gas diffusion layers (GDLs) were fabricated using commercially available carbon paper as macro-porous layer substrate. Functionally graded nano-porous designed by combining nano-fibers with nano-chain type Pureblack (75:25–0:100 wt.%) in the z -direction towards catalyst and Teflon content (say 15–30 wt.%) to obtain variation pore diameter also hydrohobicity. On top of layer, a thin hydrophilic inorganic oxide (fumed silica) was deposited retain moisture maintain electrolyte wet, especially when fuel cell is working at lower relative humidity (RH) conditions, which typical for automotive applications. The surface morphology, contact angle, bulk characteristics size distribution layered GDLs examined FESEM, Goniometer, Interferometer Hg Porosimeter, respectively. assembled into MEAs evaluated single PEMFC under various operating conditions (temperature RH) H 2 /O /air reactants. It observed that functionally showed an excellent performance peak power density about 0.46 W/cm 85 °C air 50% RH.
